Work can be a hard place to stay on top of things. Papers, information, meetings, emails, business cards… its all coming in a million miles a minute. How do you stay organized? Here are a few tips we’ve picked up over the years… what do you do to stay organized at work?
- Block off time each day (or week) to organize your desk. If you take 10 minutes at the end of each day, you’ll be amazed at the space you create, physically and mentally!
- Toss immediately! If you have a policy that you toss things as soon as they aren’t relevant anymore, you won’t have the piles of paper to go through.
- Divide and conquer. Get a desk organizer and keep your papers separated by topic. This will help you see what you have and what you need when you need it.
- Face to face. Try to have face to face meetings and conversations whenever you can. Often this reduces the amount of unnecessary papers, emails, or internal messages. Plus human interaction is good for you!
